more about me.
I'm a big fan of talking. Beware asking me my interests. I will become an unskippable cutscene.Video Game Music rambles, before you ask:
- Keiki Kobayashi's work on Ace Combat 7 is goated (I know he didn't do EVERYTHING, but stuff like Dual Wielder and Gunther Bay gets me going. Definitely worth studying when I've the time. Don't worry, I'm also a Ryo Watanabe/Magic Spear appreciator. Magic Spear rocks. Source for which composer did what:)
- Jose Pavli's work on Project Wingman is super goated (I mentioned Ace Combat now I have to mention PW), although very different from Ace Combat stuff. The amount of intimacy afforded in Jose's storytelling is really cool and also worth studying for how powerful it sounds.
- Olivier Deriviere's work for Dying Light 2 seems very well designed (I haven't played the game myself nor listened to the whole thing so I can't say it IS, but from what I've heard it sounds smart). I think the soundtrack release did his music design dirty, at least for a non-player's first impression, because it sounds disjointed. Awkward pauses between adaptive music chunks aside, it's very well composed + produced (fitting the 'otherworldly/unfamiliar' vibe they were going for) and hearing Olivier talk about his music system fills me with such passion for the craft. If you're looking for information on music design (designing systems for adaptive music in video games) I highly recommend Olivier's videos breaking down his work for Dying Light 2. In my opinion it's a fantastic watch for anyone interested, composer or not. The quality of the videos is insane for information from the composer himself.
- I love Disasterpeace for his stuff in Hyper Light Drifter.
- Kyle Hnedak's music brings fantastic atmosphere and frightening boss themes to the 2D Soulslike Death's Gambit: Afterlife. Go listen. Buy the game!
things i'm currently doing:
Too many...- Making music: covers, writing songs, composing...
- Auditioning for voice acting gigs everywhere. Hire me!!
- Probably listening to Last Dinosaurs, Justice, Porter Robinson, or Tom Misch. There is a very good chance I am either looping Hyperdrama or Cross again. Silk Sonic is awesome. I may also be listening to those composers I rambled about above.-----------------------------------------video games i play and recommend:

- Risk of Rain (Returns)
- Death's Gambit: Afterlife
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
- Hyper Light Drifter
- Monster Hunter Rise
- Metroid Dread (if you have a Switch...)-----------------------------------------books you should read:
